OUR NEXT STEP? OPEN LETTER TO MICHAEL MOORE

TWENTY-TWENTY HIND SIGHT: Reagan, Bush, Rove, Frist:
NeoCon "Next Step" is Saturday, April 23, 2005.

I am an unabashed admirer of Michael Moore, and I am on his mailing list. He (and His) wrote today asking what our "Next Step" Should be.

His e-mail and my answer are below.

Friends,

How's it going? Ready for the next step?

Let me know what you've been up to and any ideas you have about what our next move should be (write me at the addresses below).

Meanwhile, I'll be in conclave this week handing out goodie bags and running for pope. Wish me well!

Yours,

Michael Moore

OUR "NEXT MOVE:" PLAN AHEAD NEXT TIME

I think our "Next Move" should have been worked out 30 years ago. That's when the "Reagan/ NeoCons" started setting up foundations (Heritage) and think tanks (Manhattan Institute) for their series of "Next Moves." But now that we are stuck with the complete dismemberment of the Constitution and Bill of Rights including ruination of the separation of Church and State (gay marriage, stem cell research, Right to Life) and the destruction of separation of Executive and Judicial powers, (Schiavo and right To Death) we need to come to terms with the fact that we are rapidly moving toward a totalitarian government like Hitler's and Stalin's. Bush and the NeoCons show all the markers of Pure Fascism.

No one but Michael Moore has tried to put the brakes on it. The Democrats continue to be useless. The one and a half lone voices are Ted Kennedy and Barbara Boxer.

Abraham Lincoln aged terribly in the five years thousands of soldiers died defending "government of the people, by the people, and for the people." George Bush hasn't aged a day after causing the deaths of 10,000 Iraqis and 2,000 U.S. Service people, and destroying the democracy and human rights that those civil war and American soldiers thought they fought to preserve. Bush and Rove are Class A predators completely without conscience. One of our "next moves" needs to be acknowledging that fact. Know thine enemy or thou art His.

Another "Next Move" needs to be our recognition that we are now plunged into an enormous Class War of Rich on Poor both at home and abroad. This is what Afghanistan and Iraq are all about. Bush et al are impoverishing and killing Americans in the service of impoverishing and killing the Poor in those and other countires. European empirialist nations look on doing the same --- or rather letting George Bush do it for them, winking wryly at his stupidity, and "tolerating" the likes of Condoleezza Rice as she appears to be telling them what to do. (Actually, the reverse is true.) The Rich of England, Germany, and France are getting just as rich and the poor just as poor as in the United States. Impoverished Africans are escaping across the "border" into Southern Europe just as Mexican and South American escapees cross the "border" into the U.S.

A fourth "Next Move" is to acknowledge that we are being left behind. Our laws are being chipped away at little by little. Ask the ACLU about the Patriot Act.

Finally, we need to watch the "Next Move" of the NeoCons who, having lost a little ground with the Schaivo debacle are planning to launch another Initiative on Saturday, April 23, on national television. Apparently, in a bid to become the next NeoCon president, Bill Frist is going to announce their Next Big Step.

Forewarned was forearmed thirty years ago.

Counting the dead long after the fact is, I'm afraid, exactly where we are.

Thanks for asking, Mike and Company. I guess we shouldn't feel too guilty about being in a complete state of denial. Good people everywhere simply do not want to believe that a Hitler-figure is going to maraude across Continents leaving millions of people dead in his wake. That's what makes them Good People.

But, for a change, let's be Good Wide Awake People.
